George Bilgere of Cleveland OH
 George joined the English faculty at John
Carroll University in the mid-1990s after earning his Ph.D. at the University of Denver in Colorado. The author of four collections of poems,
Bilgere has published in such notable literary journals as Ploughshares, the Kenyon Review, the Sewanee Review, and Poetry.
His book, The Good Kiss, was chosen for the Akron Series in Poetry, and his most recent book,
Haywire, was selected for the 2006 May Swenson Poetry Award.
He also has received the Cleveland Arts Prize for poetry and fellowships from the Ohio Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts.
